The independent counsel proposal is the brainchild of James "Jim" Hudson, who has lived in Coffee County for over four decades, and who has been a lawyer for 50 years -- including serving as county attorney for two different Georgia counties (Elbert and Bacon). Hudson has been attending election board meetings and forwarding information on the January 2021 intrusions and their aftermath to Board of Elections members. His proposal has gained the support of multiple locals.
